BWRO Power Consumption

commercial-&-industrial-reverse-osmosis-systems

DEFINITION

BWRO systems consist of a precise minimum energy consumption level. The exact rate it needs to be calculated is not completely certain since RO systems differ from seawater desalination systems which have a much more polarized reaction in terms of secondary treatment. When the temperature increases in desalination systems, the optimal secondary treatment increases as well, although the opposite occurs in BWRO systems where the correct secondary treatment level is reduced as temperature increases. This process occurs due to commercial RO systems having water and salt fluxes that increase at greater temperatures, which creates more diffusion throughout the membranes.
