Reverse Osmosis is a method that applies excessive pressure via uses a high pressure pump to force water, not salt, through a semi-porous membrane in the opposite direction of a natural process called “Osmosis”.

Osmosis draws a diluted solution towards a highly concentrated solution. Reverse Osmosis is tasked with reversing this natural process by transporting water molecules and particles from the highly concentrated solution to a low concentrated one. A reverse osmosis system is utilized to carry out the process of reverse osmosis by passing feed water through semi-porous membrane eliminating particles, organics, and other impurities. Water is only permitted to pass through while salts, organics, and other impurities are rejected and discharged into a drain from the concentrate side. The ending result is fresh, potable water emerging on the permeate side.

Brackish water is water that is taken from estuaries and river openings. It salt concentration falls in between fresh water and seawater. Not as pure as fresh water, yet not as salty as seawater. Its mild salty concentration is discouraged for human consumption. To generate purified water from brackish water, a water filtration system relies on a method called "reverse osmosis" for assistance.

Pure Aqua successfully manufactured and supplied a skid mounted commercial reverse osmosis system to a major company in Guatemala. The system came complete with pre and post treatments including multimedia and activated carbon filters, a water softener and chemical dosing systems. It came pre-piped and wired all on one skid controlled by one microprocessor control panel. The system was designed to produce 1,800 GPD at feed TDS up to 5000 PPM. The BW-1.8K-325 was selected from our RO-200 series
