MBDI system are required in applications that seek to produce demineralized water quality through a polishing process, mainly after the use of reverse osmosis.
In February 2015, Pure Aqua manufactured and supplied an automatic mixed bed deionizer to a major water treatment company in Kuwait. Pure Aqua Deionizers are fixed bed systems in which ion exchange resins are contained in pressure vessels. The water is then forced through the resin. After a service run, the resin becomes exhausted and unable to remove additional ions so it must be regenerated with strong acid and base solutions to restore its ion exchange capacity.
Mixed bed resins or mixed bed ion exchange resins are usually used in the water treatment industry for final treatment or polishing process water to achieve high quality water (after a single or double pass reverse osmosis system). Mixed bed consists of strong acid cation exchange and strong base anion exchange resin.
