DE-FOAMING AGENTS

Chemicals that are added to wastewater discharges to prevent the water from foaming when it is discharged into a receiving water body. Defoaming agents are usually applied for the purposes of preventing or eliminating the occurrence of foam in water. Defoaming agents are capable of being incorporated before the formation of foam at a specific time and place, which is preferably as close to where the foaming problem is as possible. Defoaming agents are sometimes utilized to counteract foam and subdue it before the containers or tanks begin to overflow.
