DEPTH FILTRATION

Treatment process in which the entire filter bed is used to trap insoluble and suspended particles in its voids as water flows through it. Depth filtration depends on filter media that is based on cellulose and utilizes thickness (depth). The “depth” matrix works in collecting suspended solids and sediments,and simultaneously separating them from the product water. Depth filtration is generally utilized in applications that require cleaning filtration, but also in other areas such as:

• Great degree of parenteral solutions
• Highly effective oil and extracting methods
• Distillation for the removal of haze
• Water removal
• Oil filtration
• Chemical production
