Dupont FilmTec membrane elements provides a spiral wound design that is based on the FT30 thin-film composite polyamide membrane, which has continued to be the industry standard for reverse osmosis performance. The FilmTec Nanofiltration membrane is filled with three layers: an ultra-thin polyamide barrier layer, a microporous polysulfone interlayer, and a high-strength polyester support web. The nanofiltration membrane has been consistently reworked to generate higher rejection, greater membrane flux, and low fouling attainment. The current pool of Filmtec nanofiltration membranes are steadfast in status and efficiency, without the taped or glued shortcomings that can bring about membrane failings. Ample knowledge and implementation of the operations of reverse osmosis can reduce troublesome and costly issues in the future.

Thin-Film Composite (TFC Membrane) design
The Filmtec nanofiltration membranes are intended for eliminating high percentages of TOC and THM precursors with medium to high salt passage and medium hardness passage. The Filmtec nanofiltration membrane is the perfect choice for surface water and groundwater where effective organic removal is necessary with partial water softening.
Precise application of reverse osmosis systems is vital to collect the membranes for functional performance and to avoid membrane failings due to overfeeding or hydraulic shock. Following the correct execution sequence also improves the chances of system operating parameters complying to design requirements so that the water condition and productivity targets can be met.
Filmtec nanofiltration membranes are constructed to fully eliminate sulfate from saltwater for the purposes of oil production, and other applications. This nanofiltration membrane remains at a high performance during operation at low pressures, and effectively eliminates organic material greater than .001 microns. The end result is highly purified water that is free of all silica, bacteria, and other biological microorganisms.
Advantages:
- Effective organic removal
- Easy to clean due to high cleaning range tolerance
- Water softening maintains character of water
- Lower cost of power & energy usage
- Less operational cost
- Long-lasting membrane element life
