Pure Aqua has over 20 years of experience as a global provider of Dupont/Dow Filmtec brackish water reverse osmosis membranes for a wide range of applications and industries. These membranes are highly effective filtration semi-permeable elements for reverse osmosis systems and is separated from the related products in the market through optimal refection, flow rate, and recovery capabilities.
Reverse osmosis systems operate by pushing water through a semipermeable RO membrane element using high pressure. RO membranes are composed of a thick film of polyamide which contains smaller openings through which water flows through. Based on usage, the size of the RO membrane component pores can vary from 0.1 to 5,000 nanometers (nm). The pores in the RO membrane are narrow enough to inhibit organic substances like minerals and salts but facilitate the movement of water molecules. Brackish reverse osmosis membranes are often porous and rigid enough to flush out a disease that causes water-borne diseases and pathogens.
Thin-Film Composite (TFC Membrane) design
The TFC membrane consists of three layers: a polyester support web, a microporous polysulfone interlayer, and an ultrathin barrier coating on the top surface.
