HEAVY METALS

Metals that have a density of 5.0 or higher and a high elemental weight. Most are toxic to humans, even in low concentrations. Some prevalent heavy metal contaminants are lead, chromium, arsenic, nickel, copper, mercury, and cadmium. They generally are utilized in acid mines and drained in order to discharge heavy metals from native minerals due to the highly solubility of metals in acidic solutions.
