LIME

Common water treatment chemical. Lime can be deposed on walls of showers and bathrooms, after lime has reacted with calcium to form limestone. The softening of lime is done through the utilization of calcium hydroxide, which helps water softening by eliminating the magnesium and calcium ions. The lime softening process works by adding liquified lime to the water source which will increase its pH levels and eventually remove the unwanted hard ions. This process is also beneficial in removing bacteria and viruses for water disinfection purposes.
