ORGANIC MATTER

Substances of (dead) plant or animal matter, with a carbon-hydrogen structure. Organic matter is defined as the all-purpose combination of many organic substances existing in water. These organic substances come from animal and plant sources which ultimately means that they vary greatly from their sources. These matters also consist of a high level of carbon-based components, with the largest component of organic substances being deceased matter. Dead matter is estimated to be about 90% of the organic substance in soils. Other than dead matter, pieces of existing plants, and animate microbes are also representations of organic matter.
