RESIDUE

The dry solids remain after the evaporation of a sample of water or sludge. Residue is the distillation of liquids which has already been condensed during the distillation process from the vapours. Residue can also be seen as the remaining pieces of whatever has been removed from a liquid in its original form. Other processes that produce residue are filtration, separation, evaporation, purification, etc.
