Water Challenges: River water in Cameroon contains elevated TDS levels that require the employment of solar power water treatment systems to purify. This project in Cameroon incorporated the utilization of water filtration systems powered by solar energy for the purposes of river water treatment. The challenges that were brought consisted of removing extremely high amounts of contaminants that reduce the quality of water. In order to use these water sources for various applications including consumption, these water treatment systems were needed to eliminate microbiological organisms and dissolved substances that affect watercolor, smell, and taste.

Applied Solution: Pure Aqua, Inc. designs and manufactures water treatment systems in addition to customized water filtration systems. A solar-powered multimedia filtration system was designed and manufactured for a major company in Cameroon by Pure Aqua. The system is capable of making 8 GPM of high-quality water from a tank fed river water by a solar-powered submersible pump. The system was designed to remove turbidity, discoloration, odor, taste, and disinfect the water of microbiological contaminants.
