Application: Boiler Feedwater
This is model #WS42-1050-2-D from our SF-100s Series.
[custom-specifications]
Water Challenges: Scale build up in boiler feedwater is brought about by water hardness. The total number of minerals in the water is referred to as total dissolved solids (TDS), and is what forms hard water. The salt minerals that make up TDS are silica, calcium, sodium, magnesium, and others, which all work effectively in creating a scale build up in boiler equipment. One of the most detrimental effects of scale build up on boilers is the loss of heat transfers due to the scaling usually occurring in the hottest surfaces and throughout the pipes.

Applied Solution: Pure Aqua specializes in customized water treatment solutions that are designed to eliminate water hardness in boiler feedwater. A Twin Alternating water softener was manufactured for a major company in Kuwait for this exact application and was delivered successfully. The Twin Alternating water softener had an ion exchange rate of about sixty-five gallons per minute. The alternating softener had two tanks, an operating tank and a standby tank, so that when the first needed to recharge, the second became the operating tank.
