Water Challenges: Water hardness is formed when there is a presence of elevated minerals such as sodium, calcium, magnesium, sulphates, silica in the water. The dissolved solids produce hard water which makes membrane cleaning less efficient and more expensive, due to more cleaning cycles required. This result will necessitate more chemicals needed to be added and higher costs to achieve proper membrane cleaning.

Applied Solution: Pure Aqua manufactures membrane cleaning skids that work to remove scaling around the membrane, thereby improving its full capabilities. High pH is used to clean biological, low pH is used to remove scale from the membranes. We have 4 Clean in Place Systems and they are designed to clean 4-in. diameter membranes—2 at a time. They will accompany systems that are being sent to Sri Lanka. The CIP System works by connecting the CIP System and attaching it to the Reverse Osmosis (RO) System to circulate the high or low pH cleaner through the systems and membranes.
