Water Challenges: The challenge that comes with water treatment systems are the membranes used during operation, which eventually loses efficiency due to scaling problems. As small particles and mineral compounds such as calcium sulfate, build up in the membrane surface, membrane performance begins to deteriorate and ultimately fail due to these deposits. Calcium sulfate in particular is extremely prone to fouling the membrane, since it occurs in water at a high frequency. Pretreatment solutions, such as membrane cleaning is needed in order to cleanse/eliminate the accumulation of calcium sulfate and other unwanted impurities.

Applied Solution: A clean in-place system has recently been manufactured for a major company in the United States. This clean in-place system was made with wheels, making it portable and convenient as well. The clean in-place system is designed to clean three of the 4-inch pressure vessels simultaneously at a rate of thirty gallons per minute at forty PSI. The operator can manipulate this pressure as necessary.
