Water Challenges: This project focuses on recycling water that is used to clean produce such as fresh fruit and vegetables. Water is needed to wash away unwanted dirt and bacteria from the produce, but is generally wasted as the water continues running during the rinsing process. To save water that is lost while cleaning produce, the user must utilize a wastewater treatment system that will catch the spent process water and purify it to fulfill the requirements for water reuse. Pure Aqua specializes in water and selective wastewater treatment technology, such as ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis, that are designed to purify the contamination brought by the wastewater produced in various industries.

Applied Solution: Pure Aqua manufactures the most efficient ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis systems around the world for applications regarding reuse of treated water. An ultrafiltration system was designed for generating clean water for produce in Idaho, USA. These UF Systems are used as pretreatment for the removal of unwanted impurities before sending the treated water to reverse osmosis systems that complete the purification process, and the production of fresh, clean water. Our first RO system will treat about 25 GPM and then send the reject of the first RO to a second RO to treat and produce 7 GPM, where it gives a total 30-32 gallons of permeate recovered everyday.

[custom-usage]

  • Superior filtration performance with high flux
  • Very small nominal pore diameter (0.03 µm)
  • Efficiently gets rid of bacteria and viruses
  • Periodically back washed and air scoured to enhance overall performance and casting off the fouling layer to extend working life
  • Low fouling membrane modules
  • UF Outside-In or Inside-Out Configuration lets in reduced plugging and greater solids loading
  • Basic, vertical, modular plan approves low cost, compact systems
  • Effective membrane cleaning has a high chemical resistance and temperature tolerance
