Most metals are safe in low doses and actually necessary for human bodily functions, but become dangerous when consumed in various ways in high concentrations. These elements cause metallic taste and other health issues, such as body weakness, achy muscles and joints, headaches, and constipation when ingested within water.

Applied Solution: - Pure Aqua, Inc. provided this project with a green sand filter and water softener to combat the level of both heavy metals. Manganese greensand is a specially processed medium for iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide removal. This premium non-proprietary filter medium is processed from glauconitic greensand on which a shiny, hard finite thickness manganese oxide coating is formed and is firmly attached on every grain by a controlled process. Manganese greensand is catalytic by nature and is not soluble. There is no increase in the total dissolved solids of the treated water.
