CONVEYANCE LOSS

Water loss in pipes and channels by leakage or evaporation. Conveyance loss is often categorized as water that is gone due to ditches, pipes or canals due to evaporation or leakages. Usually the water is not open for greater use, excluding leakages from ditches which may filter to the groundwater source and become ready for greater use. Conveyance loss is applicable to the area of the weather than can be referred to as in hydrologic terminology - water loss from conduits as a result of evaporation, seepage, leakage, or transpiration.
