Hydranautics has developed a MBR module called the HYDRAsub HSM45-ES-HSE15 that contains PVDF hollow fiber and is designed to work specifically in applications that need biological treatment. These modules necessitate standard activated sludge treatment for the purposes of producing high quality water. MBR treated water is generally safer to use in many other processes such as RO treatment, and reduces the footprint by taking out the sedimentation tank. Industrial and municipal wastewater projects are the most common industries that utilize MBR modules.
