Water Challenges: The efficiency of industrial chillers relies mainly on its capability of transferring heat productively. The chiller’s performance is dependent upon the operator’s responsibility on keeping the heat-transfer surfaces clean from scale buildup. Scale build up is caused from the mineral salts that form what is called total dissolved solids (TDS) in the feedwater, and is detrimental to the performance of chillers for the reasons stated above. Due to this case, advanced water treatment systems are needed to remove all impurities from the feedwater before using in chillers.
Applied Solution: Pure Aqua manufactures reverse osmosis systems to meet water treatment needs, including industrial chiller water treatment. An industrial reverse osmosis water purification system was manufactured and supplied to Mexico. The system produces high quality product water at a rate of forty-three thousand gallons per day with a total dissolved solid of ten PPM. The system, designed for a well in Mexico, draws intake water of no more than one thousand PPM TDS.
