From its initial start-up, it has been running smoothly with minimal trouble-shooting. As a result, the company has had a reliable and steady supply of fresh, purified water at a cost far less than shipping water to the site. Reverse Osmosis is a method that consists of removing a certain amount of salt and other impurities from water sources that are not made for human consumption. A high pressure pump is used to fight the osmotic pressure of a natural process called “Osmosis”.
Osmosis naturally transports salt through a very fine membrane from a region with low saline concentration to an area with high saline concentration. Its goal is to acquire an equal amount of saline concentration on both sides of the membrane. Reverse osmosis comes in to reverse this process. The process starts by passing feed water through numerous pre-filters to remove particles and solids from water. The water then proceeds into a water softener tank which removes the hardness that prevents membranes within the system from damaging. It then proceeds through the actual system where it passes through semi-permeable membranes. Here, the membranes remove particles that the pre-filters bypassed. The membranes only permit water to flow through while preventing salts, minerals, and other impurities from flowing through. The final result is in the emergence of purified, fresh water on the permeate side while salt, organics, and other impurities are flushed down the drain from the concentrate side.

Brackish water is water that is taken from estuaries and river openings. It salt concentration falls in between fresh water and seawater. Not as pure as fresh water, yet not as salty as seawater. Its mild salty concentration is discouraged for human consumption. To generate purified water from brackish water, a water filtration system relies on a method called "reverse osmosis" for assistance.

[custom-features]
Pure Aqua successfully manufactured and supplied a skid mounted commercial reverse osmosis system to a major company in Florida, USA. The RO system came complete with activated carbon filtration for chlorine removal, water softener to remove hardness, and a UV sterilizer to kill bacteria. It came pre-piped and wired all on one skid controlled by one microprocessor control panel. The system was designed to produce 6,000 GPD at a feed up to 500 PPM TDS. The TW-6.0K-440 was selected from our RO-200 series.
