Water Challenges: In areas of Guyana, where the water is extremely hard, industries left with non consumable and unusable water. Water with high concentrations of mineral salts can contain elements that lead to human health issues and also can potentially damage clothes, fabrics, equipment and other materials when used in commercial or industrial applications. Humans require daily consumption of freshwater sources that have complete purity in its characteristics. For this reason, there is a need for water treatment systems such as reverse osmosis and water softeners that eliminate the mineral salts that causes high TDS and create hardness in water.

[custom-features]

The removal of hardness from drinking water was the objective of this project, and was done through the utilization of water softeners followed by reverse osmosis systems. We used both treatment processes for the simple reason that water softeners protect and enhance the performance of reverse osmosis systems.

Applied Solution: Pure Aqua designs the most efficient reverse osmosis and water softener systems in the world. For this project, a Tap Water Reverse Osmosis Machine completed production in order to go to Guyana for the application of tap water filtration. The system was designed to produce 7,500 gallons of water per day.

[custom-usage]

Water softeners are more effective at reducing water hardness than RO, and removes calcium and magnesium (minerals that make water hard) so that the reverse osmosis system will avoid fouling and losing the efficiency of its membranes through scale buildup. The RO system will also be free to do what it is best at, which is rejecting small or mono ions such as Sodium, Chloride, Potassium and produce ultra pure drinking water by removing all other impurities from the feed water.
