Commercial Media Filters 70 GPM - Qatar

Product Description

Application: Reduce Suspended Solids and Turbidity in Water

This is model 31F36210MM from our MF-400 Series.

Since its startup, the filtration system has been running smoothly with minimal trouble-shooting. For satisfactory results, the filters took advantage of the following grades of media: Anthracite, Silica Sand, and Gravel. Anthracite is a special kind of coal that quickly evaporates and contains a higher amount of carbon than any known type of coal. It is utilized as a filter medium to take out lighter weight turbidity and the extra silica discovered in the water. Its low bulk density promotes extreme savings on backwash water. Silica Sand or silicon dioxide (SiO2) is a popular kind of sand known around the world. It is utilized as a filtration bed for many particulates, free from lime, and is chemically inert. It is graded in various ranges depending on its practical size and application. Gravel has a highly spherical shape that guarantees good flow and equal distribution in support beds. It claims a decreased amount of soluble impurities and will preserve the quality of the treated water, especially in softeners. Coarse, medium, and fine layers are recommended in graded support beds. Multi-Media Filters are manufactured to decrease or eliminate turbidity and suspended particulates from well water, surface water, or seawater, and sometimes utilized for some applications of wastewater. Two or three layers of filtration media are recommended for taking out turbidity and suspended particulates to smaller than 30 microns. Proper design and sizing is crucial to have these filters remove turbidity and suspended solids as small as 10 micron. Multi-Media filters are used for treat waters such as drinking, irrigation, storm, surface, and swimming pools.

Water Challenges: Water sources that contain high levels of suspended solids carry large amounts of sediments and particles at the bottom of the feed water and are carried along with the water as it veers off land. Suspended solids consist of primarily inorganic material that when existing in significant levels, produce cloudy, muddy texture in the water, including causing turbidity. These harmful contaminants contribute to ineffective water purification that's needed to convert unclean water into clean drinking water. These substances may also be deadly to the aquatic life that are habitating in areas within the water bodies that have high concentrations of suspended solids.

Applied Solution: Pure Aqua successfully manufactured and supplied four commercial media filters to a major company in Qatar to reduce suspended solids and turbidity in water. The filters are composed of FRP tanks designed with top mounted fleck valves, and high quality multi-media. The filters were selected from our MF-400 Series. 31F36210MM tanks were each designed to handle a flow rate of 70 GPM.

The actual MF system is even better than the 3D drawing that we saw.
