This reverse osmosis system for drinking water use includes feed and backwash pump, media filter, carbon filter, antiscalant & post-chlorination dosing systems and UV. The feed water is coming from a brackish well, and the capacity of this system is 57,000 GPD.


Water Challenges: The challenge of converting well water into drinking water is seen in the elevated levels of contaminants within the well water sources which makes it unsuitable for consumption. Bacteria, lead, viruses, and biological substances reduce the freshness and quality of water. These contaminants can lead to the diagnosis of diseases when ingested by humans as drinking water. To prevent this from occurring, the well water must undergo sufficient treatment, specifically reverse osmosis, which works to remove these contaminants through the use of semi-permeable membranes. What is produced is high quality purified water with virtually all of its pollutants removed.



Applied Solution: Pure Aqua, Inc. successfully manufactured and supplied an industrial brackish RO machine to a major company in Africa. The purpose was to produce drinking water with less than 500 ppm. The product water capacity was 57,000 GPD from bore hole well water of approximately 3,000 ppm TDS. The BW-57K-2480 machine was selected from our RO-400 series and came complete with a skid mounted pretreatment.
