Water Challenges: Seawater beach wells are water sources that contain some of the highest concentration of dissolved solids and minerals which make for lower water quality. Suspended solids such as sediments and particles are prone to cause scaling throughout industrial facilities such as in pilot plants, which was the application of this project. Scaling wears down systems and equipment to a substantial degree and reduces the durability of these technologies. In order to save the efficiency and cost of the facility, pilot plants are requiring the usage of water treatment systems such as multi-media seawater filtration systems that are designed to eliminate the contaminants that occur in beach wells.
Applied Solution: Pure Aqua designed and manufactured a skid mounted twin multimedia seawater filtration system for a US Navy pilot plant in California. Feed water to the system was from a seawater beach well.
The filtration system came complete with manual control valves with v-notch flow control valves for backwash and service, pre & post filter pressure gauges, backwash and service inlet flow meters, vacuum breakers and vent valves.
